Who is Pepi?
Everyone calls me Pepi. And music is my passion!
I was born and raised in Venezuela where music is woven into the spirit and traditions of our people.
When I was just a “Pepita”, I joined every music class my school offered and every band and choir I could find. As I grew, my passion for music grew as well. Even as an adult, music and performing remained a vital driving force in my life.
In 1990, my husband and I left our home in Venezuela for a new challenge in the United States. Of course our traditions came with us. And soon we made connections in the South Florida Latin music scene. And what a scene it was! Vibrant. Diverse. Intoxicating!
With a group of friends we formed a band called Las Boca Ratonas. It was a joyful time.
Passionate crowds gathered to soak-in the energy of “Gaita”, the traditional Venezuelan music we played.
During that busy time, I learned to conduct sound checks for the band’s performances and to properly arrange all the equipment connections. It was a blast. I played my favorite music and experimented with technical transitions and sound effects. And just like that, a new opportunity arose.
Requests piled up for me to DJ at venues and events. Thanks to my reputation and flair for performance, I drew enthusiastic crowds. It was time to share my unique brand of excitement with a wider audience.
In 2016 I started PepiDJ / Karaoke-Sing-A-Long Party. I perfected my performances and organized my business to better connect with clients. And of course, I put my own twist on the Karaoke/dance party experience. What a blessing it’s been!
Just imagine … I get to flex my creativity and spread happiness across south Florida. Best of all, anybody at my events can take the microphone, pick a song, and perform like a superstar. Each show is unique and every audience is a new thrill.
